State Police Reports - Calvert County


DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 11-20, the owner of Coronet Builders reported that an unknown culprit had entered a house under construction on Custer Ct., Lusby, plugged two sinks and a bathtub with paper, and turned on the water. The overflow has caused $20,000.00 in damage to the residence. SGT R. King, CIT, is handling the investigation.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: During the overnight hours of 11-29, an unknown culprit shattered the rear window to a vehicle parked on Bay Ave., North Beach. TFC Whipp is handling the investigation.

BURGLARY: On 11-30, 11:02 AM, TFC Bevard responded to a burglar alarm on Dunkirk Dr., Owings. Investigation revealed that an unknown culprit had forcibly entered the residence and removed a Stihl chainsaw/orange case, 3 Ryobi 18-volt drill/flashlight combos, a Sears compound miter saw, and a Remington masonry nailgun. CIT is handling the investigation.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 12-2, between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM, an unknown culprit keyed a vehicle parked at the Prince Frederick Wal-Mart. TFC Whipp is handling the investigation.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT: On 12-5, between 2:30 AM and 3:00 AM, an unknown culprit stole a 1994 Ford F-150, red in color, MD tag 71P082, from the driveway of a residence on Chesapeake Beach Rd. W., Dunkirk. At approximately 10:35 AM, TFC Bevard responded to a residence on Grover's Turn Rd., Owings, for a littering complaint. The litter contained the name of the victim. TFC Bevard continued down a shared driveway and observed the stolen truck behind a residence. TFC Bevard requested back up and Deputy Baumgardner, CCSO, arrived to assist. The suspect was observed getting in the vehicle and attempting to leave. He was confronted at that time and placed under arrest. A tag on the vehicle had been switched and reported stolen earlier through the CCSO. A CDS smoking device was also found on the suspect. Charged with motor vehicle theft, theft (+$500), and possession of CDS paraphernalia, was Shawn Parrow Cullen, 22, of Lothian. After processing, he was incarcerated in the CCDC to await a commissioner's hearing.
