CCSO and FOP President Sign 2nd Collective Bargaining Contract

Charles County Sheriff Frederick E. Davis and Sgt. Jon Norris, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 24 (FOP), met Sept. 2 and signed the second collective bargaining contract since a bill passed in 2002 allowing the Sheriff's Office and FOP members to formally negotiate working conditions and other contract terms.

"Our negotiations were once again successful and reflect a strong and productive partnership between the Sheriff's Office and the FOP," said Sheriff Davis. "It is a pleasure to work with the FOP so that together, we can provide the best possible service to our community."

"Negotiations went very well this year and I'm pleased with the outcome," said Sgt. Norris. "The Sheriff's and FOP's negotiating teams have established a good working relationship which will serve both well in future negotiations."

The contract will be renewed in 2007.
