State Police Blotter - Calvert County


THEFT: During the overnight hours of 11-22, an unknown culprit entered a utility truck parked on Cassell Blvd., Prince Frederick, and removed numerous power tools. TFC Schmidt is handling the investigation.

THEFT: On 11-22, between 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM, an unknown culprit entered a vehicle parked at the Prince Frederick K-Mart and removed 75 CDs and a prescription medication. TPR Mounts is handling the investigation.

BURGLARY: Between 11-21 and 11-23, an unknown culprit forcibly entered a residence on Abigail Ct., Prince Frederick, and removed a plasma tv and a Bose stereo and surround equipment. TFC Whipp is handling the investigation.

SHOPLIFTING: On 11-23, 11:21 AM, TPR Stein responded to the Prince Frederick Giant for a shoplifting complaint. Investigation revealed that Courtney Katherine Shreve, 28, of Prince Frederick, was observed by a store employee leaving the premises with merchandise concealed on her person. She was charged on a criminal citation with theft (-$100) and released.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 11-24, TFC Whipp responded to Cassell Blvd., Prince Frederick for a destruction of property complaint. Investigation revealed that an unknown culprit had used a bottle to damage the windows to two vehicles.

SHOPLIFTING: On 11-26, TFC Bevard responded to Peebles for a shoplifting complaint. Investigation revealed that a 14-year-old female, of Lothian, was observed concealing jewelry in her purse. She was charged with theft (-$100) and released to her parents.

SHOPLIFTING: On 11-25, 8:15 PM, TFC Schmidt responded to the Prince Frederick K-Mart for a shoplifting complaint. Investigation revealed that a 15-year-old female, of Prince Frederick, was observed by a store employee concealing merchandise on her person. She was charged with theft (-$100) and released to a parent.

SHOPLIFTING: On 11-26, 10:00 PM, TPR Stein responded to the Prince Frederick K-Mart for a shoplifting complaint. Investigation revealed that Matthew Bruce Findlay, 19, of Prince Frederick, was observed by a store employee leaving the premises with merchandise concealed on his person. He was charged with theft (under $100) and transported to the Prince Frederick Barrack. Findlay also had an open warrant through DNR for failing to pay a fine. After processing, he was incarcerated in the CCDC to await a commissioner's hearing.

THEFT: On 11-28, 3:17 AM, TFC Bennett responded to Alton Ct., Prince Frederick, for a theft complaint. Investigation revealed that an unknown culprit was observed tampering with three vehicles. Including a stolen JVC stereo, property loss is estimated at $420.00.
