On the Wednesday November 30 episode of the Montel Williams Show, psychic Sylvia Browne will attempt to uncover a handful of mysteries, including the murder of Christopher Mader that occurred on Thanksgiving last year in Waldorf. Mader's mother, Samantha Payne will appear on the show, which will air tomorrow at 4 p.m. on WUSA.
Christopher Mader was murdered Nov. 25 as he was driving his car from his job as a bartender at Bennigan's in Waldorf about 3 a.m. Mader was traveling west on Smallwood Drive, just outside of his neighborhood, Hampshire. Despite the detectives' aggressive investigative efforts, the case remains unsolved. America's Most Wanted aired a segment on the murder on Saturday Sept. 3.
Detectives received several leads following the murder, but the leads have not produced a suspect. Police received a phone call in connection with the incident, however, after a brief conversation, the call was disconnected. The call-taker was unable to obtain the caller's information. The Sheriff's Office released part of the recording to the public and the recording remains on the Sheriff's Office's website, but detectives did not obtain any leads.
The Sheriff's Office also released a sketch of a person who detectives believe may have information about the murder. Although detectives did receive some tips, they were not able to develop a suspect from the information.
Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information about this investigation that leads to an arrest or indictment.
