The Charles County School Board, taking it's cue from sex education curriculum objections in Mongomery County schools, has drawn up a formal position to prevent teachers from discussing homosexuality and opposing demonstrations of how to put on a condom.
The County teachers union and some community members have called the action "staunchly conservative and moralizing."
We at Southern Maryland Online urge parents to contact your school board and make your views on this issue known. Only through parental involvement can we have a school system that reflects the values of our community and the best interests of our children.
