DNR Announces Completion Of The Nanjemoy NRMA Planning Process

ANNAPOLIS – The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and Charles County, are pleased to announce the completion of the planning process for the newly named Nanjemoy Natural Resource Management Area (NRMA).

The property was formerly known as both Douglas Point and the Lower Potomac River Area. The final version of the Nanjemoy NRMA Land Unit Implementation Plan can be found on the internet at http://www.dnr.state.md.us/resourceplanning/nanjemoy.html. Paper copies (non-circulating) of the plan will also be available at the Potomac, La Plata, and Waldorf branches of the Charles County public library.

For the Federal portion of the Nanjemoy NRMA only (i.e. Douglas Point SRMA) the decision to implement this plan relevant to the federally-owned Douglas Point portion of the property may be appealed. You may appeal to the Interior Board of Land Appeals, Office of the Secretary, in accordance with the regulations contained in 43 CFR, Part 4. Any appeal must be received by midnight on Dec. 12. The appellant has the burden of showing that the decision being appealed is in error.
