CCSO Officer Seriously Injured in Car Accident


On Nov. 7 at 2:45 a.m., a 1987 Chevrolet Corvette driven and owned by John Timothy Crawford, 43, of Issue, a lieutenant with the Charles County Sheriff's Office, was traveling west on Burnt Store Road near Cracklingtown Road in Hughesville when the driver lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons.

The vehicle left the roadway and struck a telephone pole. Crawford sustained incapacitating injuries and was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma, where his injuries are said to be serious but non-life-threatening. Officer S. Burrows investigated.
