Waldorf Woman's Negligence Causes Crash With School Bus


On Nov. 7 at 7:29 a.m., a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Susan Ann Jennings, 43, of Waldorf was stopped on Middletown Road for the flashing red traffic signal at Marshall Corner Road.

As the driver proceeded through the intersection, her vehicle entered the path of a Charles County school bus traveling east on Marshall Corner Road and the vehicles collided. The Suburban then struck a 1993 Honda Civic stopped on Turkey Hill Road for the flashing red traffic signal.

The driver of the Civic, Leketcha Tarrat Chase, 22, of La Plata sustained incapacitating injuries and was transported to Civista Medical Center.

The Suburban passengers - two boys, ages 10 and 13, and a 14-year-old girl - also sustained incapacitating injuries and were transported to Civista Medical Center.

Neither Jennings nor the driver of the school bus, Robert Wayne Gue, 53, of Indian Head, were injured.Gue was the sole occupant of the bus. Jennings was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way.
