Man Stabbed by Assailant in His Own Apartment


On Nov. 7 at 1:53 a.m., a 46-year-old Indian Head man entered the Charles County Sheriff's Office district station in Indian Head to report he had been stabbed in his leg.

Investigation revealed the man was in his apartment in the 4400 block of Indian Head Highway in Indian Head when the suspect, described only as a black male without facial hair, knocked on his door and began yelling about the victim closing the side entrance to the apartment complex. The victim retrieved a knife and opened the door. The suspect then grabbed the victim's hand that was holding the knife and stabbed the victim in the leg. The suspect then fled the scene.

Emergency Medical Services personnel treated the victim at the district station but he declined to be transported to a hospital. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-743-2222. Officer S. Hawkins is investigating.
