Five Arrested in Vehicle Break-Ins


On August 29th, 2005, the St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) assumed an investigation into a large amount of thefts from motor vehicles to residences in the Mechanicsville/ Hollywood areas of St. Mary's County, MD.

Numerous items had been stolen from their vehicles during the night. The estimated value of the stolen items from all listed victims was over $3,000. In addition, it was discovered a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta was also stolen in Charlotte Hall, MD during the night and abandoned near the scenes of the vehicle break-ins. Detectives developed several suspects and the investigation lead them into Charles County.

On October 20th, 2005 detectives from BCI with the assistance from the Charles County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) executed a Search and Seizure Warrant at the suspects' residence located in Waldorf, Charles County, MD. Numerous items of stolen property belonging to the victims in St. Mary's County were recovered inside the residence.

Detectives learned a total of five suspects were involved in the August 29th crime spree. They are identified as Chas Michael Coady (19); Robert Anthony Trinidad (20); Kristen Nicole Scola (21); Michael Howard Williams Jr. (18); and Dominic Deveraux Johnson (19) - all of Waldorf, MD.

They were placed under arrest on October 24th and charged with Motor Vehicle Theft; Theft Scheme Over $500; (3) Counts of Felony Theft; (4) Counts of Misdemeanor Theft; (1) Count of Destruction of Property Under $500; and a Credit Card Violation. The suspects are currently detained in the St. Mary's County Detention Center.
