On Oct. 20 at 8:31 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to a residence in the 3100 block of Federal House Court in Waldorf for the assault report.
Investigation revealed a 17-year-old Waldorf boy became involved in an argument with his mother, knocked over two televisions in the residence and then pushed his mother. The boy retrieved two knives from the kitchen and attempted to leave the residence. When his mother attempted to stop him, he threatened her with the knives and threatened to harm police officers with the knives as well. The boy fled the residence.
Police located the boy a short-time later walking on Light Arms Place in Waldorf. When officers attempted to stop him, he fled. Officers apprehended him after a brief struggle in the 3200 block of Huntington Circle. He was taken to Civista Medical Center for an emergency evaluation.
Officer E. Starcher obtained a warrant for the boy charging him as an adult with first- and second- degree assault, reckless endangerment and malicious destruction of property. Officer J. Thompson served the warrant on Oct. 21 at 2:40 a.m. The boy is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
