Waldorf AutoZone Robbed at Gunpoint


On Oct. 19 at 9:28 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to AutoZone at 3220 Leonardtown Road in Waldorf for the armed robbery report.

Investigation revealed a man approached an employee who was outside the store, brandished a handgun and forced the employee inside the store. The suspect demanded money from the cash register and when the victim was unable to open the cash register, the suspect removed the cash drawer and fled the scene.

A witness observed the suspect enter a black sport utility vehicle and flee toward Crain Highway. Officers conducted a search but did not locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid 20s. He is between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. He was wearing a dark colored jogging suit and mask.
