2006 Legislative Proposals Joint Public Meeting Rescheduled for October 19


The St. Mary's County Commissioners and the St. Mary's County Delegation's joint public meeting on the 2006 Legislative Proposals has been rescheduled. Due to scheduling conflicts, the meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 25, 2005, will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at 6:30 p.m., in Room 14 of the Governmental Center in Leonardtown. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss the 2006 Legislative Proposals that receive the support of the Board of County Commissioners (see below). Public comments will be accepted.

Require all persons who are convicted of any sexual offense against a minor to register with the Maryland Sex Offenders Registry. Remove judicial discretion in ordering registration. (Statewide)

6 Keith Harless

Require a county government to publish twice a month, in the legal ad section of a newspaper of general circulation in that county, the name, address, and category of offense of any convicted person registered on the Maryland Sex Offender Registry and residing in that county. (Statewide)

      TABLED UNTIL 10/18/05.

If supported, add “convicted”.
