The Board of Commissioners for St. Mary's County and the Department of Recreation, Parks and Community Services are pleased to announce the promotion of David M. Guyther to the position of Parks Division Manager, effective September 12, 2005.
Mr. Guyther has more than seventeen years of experience in parks management and grounds and facility maintenance with the Department's Parks Division. Since June 16, 2005, Mr. Guyther has served as Acting Parks Manager. In the position of Parks Manager, Mr. Guyther will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of the County park system, waterfront public landings and various recreational facilities.
"We are thrilled to have Mr. Guyther join the Department's management team and are confident that he will prove to be a valuable asset to Parks Division in the management and enhancement of existing parks and facilities and with development of new facilities," stated Phillip D. Rollins, Director of Recreation, Parks and Community Services.
A native of Leonardtown, Mr. Guyther received his education from Ryken High School and attended the Supervisor's Training Program through the National Recreation and Parks Association's Maintenance Management School.
