Three Time Loser Adds More Charges to his Rap Sheet


On September 15, 2005, SDfc. Cara Grumbles stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Three Notch Rd in Lexington Park, MD. The driver, Joseph Cefas Harrod, age 44 of Lusby, MD, was detained for three outstanding warrants.

One warrant for Assault 2nd Degree was a result of a June incident in which Harrod is alleged to have assaulted Gloria Tyler of Lexington Park, MD. A second warrant was for not appearing in court on another assault charge. The third warrant was a Calvert County warrant for failure to pay Paternity.

Dep. Christopher Byrd arrived on the scene and determined Harrod had been operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He charged Harrod with Driving Under the Influence, Driving on a Revoked License and Driving in violation of a rental agreement. He searched the vehicle, incident to arrest and discovered suspected Phencyclidine (PCP) in a vial hidden under a seat in the vehicle. Harrod was additionally charged with Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance.

Two passengers in the vehicle, Sandra Vashiti Fenwick age 42 of Lexington Park and Gloria Renee Tyler, age 38 of Park Hall, MD were also charged with possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance. All three were taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they are held pending arraignment before a District Court Commissioner.
