On Sept. 13 at 2:45 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to a residence in the 3100 block of Sedgewick Drive in Waldorf for a report of an injured person. Upon arrival, officers located a 19-year-old man with multiple facial injuries. Investigation revealed he was at a residence in the 9200 block of Larson Drive in Waldorf when he became involved in an argument with Lekisha Lashan Edwards, 25, of Waldorf. Edwards assaulted the victim with scissors and a bottle. The victim then fled to the residence on Sedgewick Drive.
A Maryland State Police helicopter flew the victim to Prince George's General Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Officers responded to the address on Larson Drive and arrested Edwards. She was charged with First- and Second- Degree Assault and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
