Charles County Police Reports; Rape, Drugs, Robbery, Burglary...


POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Sept. 5 at 9:45 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers were conducting an assignment in the 100 block of St. Patricks Drive in Waldorf when they observed a suspicious man walking on the bike path. Officers identified the man as Gary Erin Driver, 22, of Waldorf. Investigation revealed he was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Charges are pending. Cpl. J. Jones is investigating.

RACIAL, RELIGIOUS OR ETHNIC INCIDENT: On Sept. 5 at 2 a.m., suspect(s) damaged several mailboxes in the 6600 block of Maxwell Court and the 17000 block of Teagues Point Road in Hughesville. The suspect(s) also wrote racial epithets on a mailbox in the 6500 block of Fairfax Court and a street sign. RAPE: On Sept. 4 at 4:15 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to 7-Eleven at 1065 St. Ignatius Drive in Waldorf for the rape report. Investigation revealed a 42-year-old employee was outside the store when a man approached her and told her to go to the side of the store. The victim refused and the man brandished a knife, forced the victim to the rear of the store and sexually assaulted her. The man then fled the scene. The victim was transported to Civista Medical Center. The suspect is described as a black male between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs between 150 and 160 pounds. He was wearing dark pants, a white T-shirt and a gray sweat shirt with a hood. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-609-6499. STRONG ARMED ROBBERY: On Sept. 2 at 9:52 p.m., a man stopped a Charles County Sheriff's officer in the 4000 block of Bluebird Drive in Waldorf to report a robbery. Investigation revealed five men assaulted a 41-year-old Waldorf man, stole an undisclosed amount of money and a cell phone and fled the scene. A K9 team responded and searched the area but did not locate the suspects. The suspects are described as five black males. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-7777. Officer S. Hawkins is investigating.

BURGLARY: Sometime between 8:20 a.m. and 5:55 p.m. on Aug. 29, suspect(s) forced entry into a residence in the 3000 block of Elsa Avenue in Waldorf and stole a container of change, a Savage Shotgun, a World War I Naval Sword with scabbard and a chain belt. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-743-2222. Officer C. Caldwell is investigating.
