On Aug. 27 at 3:02 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to Izaak Walton Hall at 7744 Leonardtown Road in Hughesville for the commercial burglary alarm. The first officer to arrive heard noises coming from inside the business. As additional officers were responding, the noises stopped. Investigation revealed suspect(s) forced entry into the business, stole money from a vending machine and fled through a door on the other side of the business before a perimeter could be established.
