Drug-Related Arrests in Calvert


CDS Violation

On August 17th, 2005 at 7:30 pm, Dfc Cress observed a red Toyota traveling west on Rt 260 in the area of Limerick Lane, Owings, Md. The vehicle was traveling on the shoulder and he observed it strike the curb and come to a stop. Dfc Cress saw the vehicle operator run from the car. He ran into a wooded area near Limerick Lane. A search was conducted and Joel S. Ryan, 29 years old of Churchton, Md was located. A check of his Maryland Driver’s License revealed he was suspended. A search of his car revealed a small plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana. He was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of CDS and driving while suspended.


CDS Violation

On August 21st, 2005 at 1:30 am, Dfc McCarroll conducted a traffic stop on Md. Rt 260 at Woodland Way, Owings; Md. Based on observations made during the stop a consent search for the vehicle was obtained. A search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of suspected marijuana, an envelope containing suspected marijuana residue, numerous small plastic baggies and stems and seeds of suspected marijuana.

The driver Richard A. Dorsey Jr., 28 years old of District Heights, Md. was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of CDS and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
