Burglary Suspect Stabs Himself as Police Attempt Arrest


On 08-18-05 officers responded to a Lexington Park residence for reported dispute between neighbors. When the two parties were seperated, one of the neighbors left the area. Upon returning to their home they found that the residence had been burglarized. Officers responded and attempted to locate suspect Bao Dang, a 32 year old male. Suspect Dang was wanted for questioning related to the forced entry to a neighbor's residence. In that unlawful entry, there was a moderate amount of damage caused.

It was discovered that the suspect retreated to his nearby residence where he ignored attempts to be contacted by responding patrol units. Several minutes later the suspect emerged from his residence suffering from several serious self inflicted stab wounds. Because of the severity of the injuries, suspect Dang was air lifted to a Prince George's shock trauma hospital. Charges against the suspect are pending a state's attorney's office review.
