One of St. Mary's Most Wanted Apprehended in NC; More...


The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department received information about Dennis Lamont Allen who is one of St. Mary's County most wanted (six open warrants). An address in North Carolina was provided and confirmation was made through the States Attorneys office that they would extradite. Contact was made with the respective agency in N.C. (Wayne County) and they immediately responded to the address and located suspect Allen who is currently being held on the detainer sent by our agency. Information was received from N.C. advising Dennis Allen is to appear in North Carolina court on 8/18/05, and that he will be waiving extradition.

DFC Joey Somerville obtained an open case on 8/16/05 for stolen checks. Within one hour, Krystal Harris was developed as a suspect. DFC Somerville also received information about which bank was being used by the suspect. The Deputy went to the bank to obtain additional information and documents for the case. Once at the bank, he immediately observed the suspect, Ms. Harris, standing in the teller line. He made contact with the suspect and determined that she was in possession of two additional stolen checks. She was arrested and it was determined she had already uttered several checks and was attempting to utter two additional checks when apprehended.

On 8/16/05 information was received regarding the location of Michael Allen Marshal who was wanted in Washington County. Dep. Anthony Whipkey, SDFC. Tim Butler,Margret Smolarsky responded to a residence on Kingston Creek Road. The suspect observed Dep. Whipkey and immediately fled into the residence. The officers backed their vehicles away from the residence however, they discreetly took positions establishing a perimeter around the residence. The suspect attempted to exit the residence through the back door at which time Dep. Whipkey apprehended the suspect without residence.
