D.C. Thugs Strong-Arm Rob a Calvert Juvenile


On August 15th, 2005 at approximately 6:41 pm, Corporal McCourt from the Calvert County Sheriff's Office responded to the Northeast Community Center, 4075 Gordon Stinnett Ave. Chesapeake Beach, Maryland for a report of a robbery.

Upon arrival, Cpl. McCourt interviewed the juvenile victim who advised that two black males forcibly stole his wallet containing U.S Currency while he was smoking a cigarette behind the Northeast Community Center. The victim advised that he approached two black males asking them to purchase cigarettes for him. One suspect went to make the purchase while the other stayed with the victim. The victim advised that when he went to smoke a cigarette to the rear side of the Northeast Community Center, the two black males approached him about making change.

The victim removed his wallet to make change, at which time the one of the black males forcibly removed his wallet from his hand while at the same time pinning him against a wall. The victim advised that one of the black male then threw his wallet to the other black male who then fled towards the Fishing Creek housing complex. Deputies conducted a ground search and the Maryland State Police Helicopter conducted an aerial search for the suspects.

Dfc. R. Cress and Dfc. Todd Smith located one of the suspects in the area of the Octagon Restaurant. He is identified as Carlton T. Lomax, 21 years old of Washington DC. When confronted Lomax dropped a quantity of US currency in the grassy area next to the parking lot. Based on witness information and investigation, Lomax was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with robbery.

Sgt Naughton and the Calvert Investigative Team are looking for two more suspects in this case. Suspect #1 is described as a skinny black male, Suspect # 2 was described only as a black male.
