Unsafe Driving Nets Outstanding Warrant and Drugs


On 08/12/05 at approximately 2318 hours, Deputy Kevin L. Roane was patrolling on Great Mills Road in Lexington Park and observed a vehicle operating in an unsafe manner backing out in front of traffic. Deputy Roane activated his emergency equipment and stopped the vehicle. The driver was identified as Earl Robert Williams, 41 years old of Lexington Park. It was determined that there was an outstanding District Court issued Bench Warrant charging Mr. Williams with uttering a bad check. Mr. Williams was taken into custody. A search incident to the arrest revealed a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana. Mr. Williams was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served the warrant and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
