Basketball Dispute Leads to Stabbing in Waldorf


On August 4 at 8:45 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department at 3245 Old Washington Road for the report of a stabbing that occurred at another location. Investigation revealed the victim, a 20-year-old Waldorf man, was stabbed after a dispute during a basketball game he was playing with a group of people at JP Ryon Elementary School at 12140 Vivian Adams Drive in Waldorf. The victim was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George's General Hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition. The suspect has not been identified.
