The Charles County Technology Council recently awarded the 2nd Annual Technology Excellence Scholarships. Numerous applications were received, criteria for consideration included: academic performance, letters of recommendation, resume information and statement of academic and career goals; and a desire to further their education in the field of Technology at the College of Southern Maryland.
Andrew Budd, a graduating senior from Thomas Stone High School, and Gregory Alan Watson, a graduating senior from La Plata High School, were selected as the recipients of the 2005 Technology Excellence Scholarship Award. Both honors will receive a $500 scholarship to be used at CSM this coming fall.
The Charles County Technology Council is a 501 c (6) non-profit organization. The CCTC acts as a cooperative alliance dedicated to the advancement of people, technology, and ideas, in Charles County. CCTC programs include speaker's series and seminars such as the CxO Breakfast Series, the recently established Technology Excellence scholarship program, monthly business networking events, co-sponsored events such as the Leading Edge Awards, Charles County Economic Summit, and the Indian Head Tech Transfer Forum.
