Charles County Police Reports


ASSAULT: On July 25 at 4:38 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the 1 block of Circle Avenue in Indian Head for a 911 hang-up. Upon arrival, officers observed Mark Andrew Trapani, 43, of that residence, run from the residence and attempt to enter a vehicle. Trapani's father, an 81-year-old man who also lives at the residence, followed Trapani out of the residence and officers saw he had been injured. Officers ordered Trapani to stop as he attempted to enter his vehicle. Officers attempted to arrest Trapani but he resisted. Officers deployed a Tazer after Trapani refused several times to comply with officers' orders. He was subdued and placed under arrest. Investigation revealed he struck the victim with a piece of wood. Trapani was charged with first- and second-degree assault and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On July 22 at 9:48 p.m., Officers D. Walker and E. Scuderi responded to IHOP at 2190 Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of the violation of a peace order. Investigation revealed Cheryl Mary-Beth Dudley, 23, of Waldorf was in violation of a peace order by being at the business while the petitioner's daughter was working. When Dudley was arrested, a group of about five of her acquaintances became disorderly in the parking lot. Officers ordered the individuals to stop, but Angela Renee Dodson, 18, of Waldorf did not comply. She was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order. She is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner.

CRASH INVOLVING PEDESTRIAN: On July 22 at approximately 3 p.m., an eight-year-old Washington, D.C., boy was attempting to run across the 11700 block of Berry Road in Waldorf with his mother and uncle when a Mazda Tribute struck him. The boy sustained incapacitating injuries and was flown to Children's Hospital. His injuries were said to be non-life-threatening. The driver of the Mazda, Meade Rayfield Drumgold, 58, of White Plains, was not charged. Officer D. Major investigated.

STOLEN VEHICLE: Sometime between 9:30 p.m. on July 16 and 10:30 a.m. on July 17, suspect(s) stole a 2000 blue Jeep Grand Cherokee from a residence in the 13900 block of Wetherburn Street in Waldorf. The vehicle was recovered July 18 in the 11800 block of Cedarville Road in Brandywine in Prince George's County. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-7777. Officer D. Walker is investigating.
