The Board of Commissioners would like all technology based firms located in St. Mary's County to contact the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) to have their company and capabilities listed in the 2006 St. Mary's County Technology Handbook.
Businesses wishing to be listed in the 2006 Technology Handbook must complete a survey that will provide all pertinent information. Interested businesses may complete the survey online or download the form at http://www.stmarysmd.com/decd/techhandbooksurvey.asp. To request a survey by mail, contact Kimberly Wathen at kimberly.wathen@stmarysmd.com or 301-475-4200 x1400. The deadline to submit information is September 2, 2005.
The St. Mary's County Technology Handbook is a compilation of technology firms, educational organizations and supporting agencies. Since 2000, the number of companies included in the Handbook has grown 50%. Returning participants include both prime defense contractors, as well as smaller technology focused organizations.
Also, the technology handbook listings are now included in an interactive database on the County website at http://www.stmarysmd.com/decd/handbook/default.asp. This new technology allows prime contractors to locate small businesses, allows clients to locate technology businesses to fulfill contracts and provides a mechanism for partnering opportunities.
