On July 15 at 7:32 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's Officers responded to Maryland Bank and Trust at 10195 Berry Road in Waldorf for the report of a robbery. Investigation revealed two employees, women ages 67 and 20, both from Waldorf, were in the vault conducting the final count from the cash drawers when a man jumped into the vault after gaining access to the ceiling. The suspect forced the victims to the ground and threatened to shoot them. He stole an undisclosed amount of money, most of which were Susan B. Anthony coins, and fled the scene through the front door of the bank.
The suspect is described as a black male between 20 and 27 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 and 170 pounds. He was wearing jean shorts, a black shirt and a black nylon over his face. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-609-6514. Det. K.
