On July 17th, 2005 at 1:23 am, Cpl Gregory was assisting Dfc Wilson and Deputy Bonville as they were attempting to break up a fight in front of Catamaran’s Bar, Solomons, Md. He observed Ricardo L. Hicks, 29 years old of Port Republic, Md. yelling profanities and being restrained by several citizens. Cpl Gregory advised Hicks to stop yelling and leave the area. Hicks refused and continued to yell and try to lunge toward officers. Cpl. Gregory took control of Hick and placed him under arrest. He was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center were he was charged with disorderly conduct, hindering and failure to obey a lawful order.
