ROAD RAGE ASSAULT: On May 6 at 5:11 p.m., Officer J. Timko responded to the intersection of Walleye and Windowpane courts in Waldorf for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed a 36-year-old Waldorf woman was traveling in her vehicle on Middletown Road near McDaniel Road in Waldorf when another vehicle attempted to cut her off where the two lanes of Middletown Road merge into one. The victim advised the driver of the other vehicle threw unknown objects at the victim's vehicle, made rude hand gestures and began tailgating the victim's vehicle. The other vehicle followed the victim to Smallwood Drive, St. James Drive and Dorchester Circle. When the victim stopped and exited her vehicle at the intersection of Walleye and Windownpane courts, the other vehicle also stopped and the driver exited the vehicle and assaulted the victim. A witness stopped to assist the victim and the suspect fled the scene.
During the investigation, Officer Timko identified the suspect as Schwanna Lanise Freeman, 30, of Clinton. On July 5, Schwanna was charged with second degree assault.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Sometime between 1:30 p.m. on July 4 and 6:30 p.m. on July 6, suspect(s) spray painted a shed behind a residence in the 9800 block of Tulsa Court in Waldorf. There were no unusual symbols or markings on the shed. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-7777. Officer J. DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Sometime between July 1 and July 6, suspect(s) possibly used a pellet gun to damage the windshield of a vehicle parked in the 4100 block of Falcon Place in Waldorf.
