On June 30 at 9:10 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to a residence in the 4700 block of Sheffield Circle in Waldorf for the assault report. Investigation revealed Jonathan Blades, 21, of Washington D.C., approached a 16-year-old Waldorf boy and they had a verbal argument. Blades left the scene and returned a short time later. Blades brandished a handgun, assaulted the boy and fled the scene. Blades was located later at his residence and was arrested. Blades was charged with First- and Second- Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment and Possession of a Handgun During the Commission of a Felony. Blades is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Officer R. Kimble investigated.
