Public Drinking Leads to Arrest for Cocaine Possession


St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Deputy Angela Muller was patrolling in the area of Great Mills Lane in Lexington Park when she observed a subject walking down the street drinking from a brown paper bag. The subject was identified by Deputy Muller as Jeffrey Montgomery Travers of Lexington Park who was consuming beer. Suspect Travers was arrested for drinking in public. A search incident to the arrest revealed that Suspect Travers was in possession of CDS. Suspect Travers was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with Consuming an Alcoholic Beverage in Public and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Cocaine. Suspect Travers is currently awaiting a court date.
