Farm Accident Claims Man's Life in Bushwood


On 06-27-05 the Sheriff's Office and the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded to an industrial accident occurring at a privately owned farm located in Bushwood, MD. Investigation into the accident revealed that victim James Kenneth Raley, 77 YOA, became trapped in a large container and was asphixiated by the contents and heat within the container. The victim was transported to the state medical examiner's office and was determined to have died of accidental asphixiation.

The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.
