Two Assaults & 1 Burglary in Charles


ASSAULT: On June 24 at 9:22 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to a residence in the 5900 block of Roosevelt Place in Bryantown for the assault report. Investigation revealed Calvert Lorenzo Hart, 40, of Mitchellville, Md., assaulted a 47-year-old Bryantown man. The man sustained incapacitating injuries and was flown to a local hospital by a Maryland State Police helicopter. Hart was charged with First Degree Assault and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Officer M. Wagner investigated

ASSAULT: On June 24 at 6:30 p.m., a 21-year-old Waldorf man was walking near Hunt Place Apartments in Waldorf when a Ford Crown Victoria with tinted windows drove past him. A passenger in the Crown Victoria rolled down a window and pointed a handgun at the man. The man fled to a residence in the 3600 block of Osborne Court and called police. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspects' vehicle. The incident may be related to another incident that occurred June 23 on St. Charles Parkway ( See http://somd.com/news/headlines/articles/2239.shtml ). Officers are still investigating both incidents. Officer M. Wagner is investigating this incident.

BURGLARY: Sometime between 9 a.m. on June 22 and 1:30 p.m. on June 23, suspect(s) forced entry into a residence in the 18100 block of Poplar Hill Road in Waldorf, stole two DVD players and a portable jump starter and fled the scene. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-7777. Officer D. Sauve is investigating.
