Thefts in Calvert Abound Past Week


Theft

On June 20th, 2005 at 7:16 am, Deputy Childress responded to the Fastop, located at 8054 Bayside Rd., Chesapeake Beach, Md. for a reported theft. Investigation revealed an employee; Patricia A. Riggleman, 37 years old of Chesapeake Beach, Md. removed $50.00 from her cash drawer. She was contacted at her home and placed under arrest for the theft. She was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

Concealed Dangerous Weapon

On June 20th, 2005 at 2:25 pm, Dfc. Wahlgren responded to the Lake Lariat beach, Lusby, Md. for a reported subject with a handgun. CRE Security pointed out a backpack that the weapon was seen in. The owner of the backpack was located and a search of the pack revealed a BB gun and a large hunting knife. The juvenile owner of the backpack was charged with possession of the concealed weapons on a youth report and released to a parent.

Theft

On June 20th, 2005 at 7:30 pm, Dfc Tomlinson responded to Sacchetti Music located at 7 Oxford Way, Huntingtown, Md. for a reported theft. Witnesses said they saw two juveniles enter the store and take a piece of a musical instrument out of the store without paying for it. One of the suspects was a former employee of the store. The complainant was able to provide an address for that suspect. Dfc. Tomlinson responded to the address and was able to locate both suspects. The piece of equipment was recovered and the suspects charged with theft on a youth report. They were released to a parent.

Theft

On June 21st, 2005 at 8:04 am, Deputy Morder responded to the 5100 block of Sixes Rd., Prince Frederick, Md. for a reported theft. Investigation revealed an unknown suspect(s) removed the victim’s riding lawn mower and a 6 hp go-cart from his yard. There are no suspects at this time.

Theft

On June 22nd, 2005 at 8:18 pm, Deputy Cox responded to the Total Fitness Center, located in the Fox Run Shopping Center for a reported the theft. Investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) removed the victim’s car keys from the key rack in the gym and stole items from her car. The theft occurred in the gym parking lot. There are no witnesses.

Theft

On June 23rd, 2005 at 9:00 pm, Deputy Gatton responded to the 300 block of Long Horn Circle, Lusby, Md. for a reported theft. The victim said he was out of town for several days. When he returned home, he notice two speaker boxes with speakers had been removed from his porch. There are no suspects at this time.

Trespassing

On June 24th, 2005 at 4:00 pm, Deputy Shrawder responded to the Dash-in, located in Prince Frederick, Md. for a disorderly person that refused to leave the store. Deputy Shrawder observed the person in the store after he had been instructed to leave. Sahid A. Kargbo, 31 years old of Prince Frederick, Md. was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with trespassing.

Destruction of Property

On June 25th, 2005 at 5:40 am, Dfc Wahlgren responded to the Southern Pines Apartments for a reported destruction of property. Investigation revealed 13 vehicles in the parking lot had been damaged. Investigation continues.

Destruction of Property

On June 25th, 2005 at 8:35 am, Dfc Foote responded to the 900 block of Carson Dr., Huntingtown, Md. for a reported destruction of property. Investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) set the victim’s port-a-potty on fire, completely destroying it. There are no suspects at this time.
