Theft Over $500

On 6/7/05 Dfc. J. Molitor responded to the Sheetz Store on Great Mill's Road, Lexington Park, Maryland for a reported theft. Investigation revealed James F. Gant, 34, Lexington Park, Maryland stole $2,300.00 from the business while employed as the manager. Mr. Gant was placed under arrest and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

Property Destruction

On 6/7/05 Dfc. C. Morley responded to a reported Property Destruction in Valley Lee, Maryland. Investigation by Dfc. Morley revealed unknown Culprit(s) scratched the paint on Victim E. A. Slades' 1992 GMC Sonoma. Damage was estimated at $150.00.

Theft Under $500.00

On 6/8/05 Dfc. S. Myers responded to Chopticon High School for a reported theft. Investigation revealed unknown Culprit(s) stole the victim’s cellular telephone from her purse during lunch period. The cellular phone was valued at $250.00.

Theft Under $500.00

On 6/8/05 Dfc. J. Molitor responded to the Cedar Point Federal Credit Union for a reported Littering Complaint. Dfc. Molitor discovered that the property which was reported as litter consisted of new items and may have been stolen and discarded. Dfc. Molitor recovered the property and responded to the Wal-Mart in California. Contact was made with the store manager who identified the items as stolen from the store earlier in the day when an employee confronted the suspect in the parking lot. The suspect fled the area at that time in a vehicle and discarded in the items near the dumpster at Cedar Point Federal Credit Union. A 17 year old Juvenile was identified as a suspect by Dfc. Molitor. The Juvenile was located in Mechanicsville, Maryland, arrested, charged with theft under $500.00, and released to parent custody pending action by juvenile authorities. The loss was valued at $486.77.
