Driver Flees After Failing Sobriety Test; More...


On May 31st, 2005, Detectives from the St. Mary's Bureau of Criminal Investigations were alerted to a possible drunk driver attempting to back out of a parking spot in the ADF Bingo parking lot. The investigation revealed Suspect William Wellington Webb was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and was driving on a suspended license.

After field sobriety was preformed, Webb fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later. Upon apprehension, Webb struggled with the officer and resisted the officers attempts to arrest him. Webb was subsequently subdued and taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was released after posting a bond with the district court commissioner.

On May 25th, 2005, an investigation conducted by the St. Mary's Bureau of Criminal Investigations and the Department of Social Services revealed Suspect Vicki P. McLaughlin had abused a fourteen year old child. Suspect Mclaughlin was arrested by Detectives from the St. Mary's Bureau of Criminal investigations without incident, and taken to the detention center where she was released on her own recognizance. Suspect McLaughlin also had an outstanding warrant from Charles County.
