On June 4 at 11:30 p.m., an 18-year-old Indian Head man stopped to assist a group of people outside a light green Lincoln that appeared to be disabled in the 6700 block of Firetower Road in Welcome. The motorists advised they needed a jump start, so the victim pulled his vehicle around and opened its hood to assist. One of the suspects then demanded the victim's keys. The victim did not comply. Three of the suspects then assaulted him and one suspect brandished a handgun. The suspects then stole the victim's wallet, keys and cell phone.
Another motorist stopped and the victim entered her car. They drove to the 6200 block of Welcome Road and notified the Sheriff's Office. The victim was eventually transported to Civista Medical Center by ambulance.
The suspects fled in the Lincoln. They are described as four black males between 19 and 22 years of age and a white female approximately 19 years of age. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-2222. Officer C. Gass is investigating.
