Seemingly Injured Woman Ends Up Being Arrested

On May 29 at 9:45 p.m., Sgt. J. Powell responded to southbound Crain Highway near Crossover Road in Faulkner for the report of a person lying on the side of the roadway. Sgt. Powell located a woman in the 10600 block of Crain Highway and attempted to determine her condition.

The woman refused to provide her name and became disorderly when emergency medical services personnel arrived. When the woman was placed in handcuffs, she reached toward Sgt. Powell's gun. Sgt. Powell blocked her gun from the woman and the woman scratched Sgt. Powell's arm and hand.

Officers identified the woman as Tabitha Lynn Boccarossa, 21, of Wilton, Conn., and found she was wanted by the Charles County Sheriff's Office for destruction of property. Boccarossa was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and assault and served the warrant.

Sgt. Powell was treated on the scene by EMS personnel for minor scratches. Sgt. R. Farrell investigated.
