Charles County Sheriff's Office Seeks Information About Armed Robbery


The Charles County Sheriff's Office and Charles County Crime Solvers are seeking the public's assistance in the investigation of an armed robbery at Murphy's Store, located at 8508 Port Tobacco Road in Port Tobacco.

Sheriff's officers responded to Murphy's Store on April 19 at 8:20 p.m. for the report of the armed robbery. Investigation revealed two suspects entered the store, brandished handguns and ordered everyone inside to the floor. The victims complied and the suspects stole money from the cash register and lottery register. The suspects also stole bottles of liquor and packs of cigarettes before fleeing the scene.

Both suspects are described as black men in their 30s and were wearing black masks, white gloves and black clothing. One of the suspects has a large build and the other has a medium build. They were possibly driving a white two-door vehicle. The four victims inside the store were not injured.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Det. K. Moody at 301-609-6514 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Crime Solvers offers rewards of up to $1,000 for information about a crime in Charles County that leads to an arrest or indictment.
