Attempted Armed Robbery at "Wings to Go" in Waldorf


On May 15 at 8:53 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to Wings To Go at 2394 Crain Highway in Waldorf for an attempted armed robbery report. Investigation revealed a man entered the business, brandished a knife and demanded money. An employee activated the alarm and the man fled the scene. Responding officers obtained a description of the man and police communications broadcast a lookout. A K9 team responded and quickly located the man near the intersection of Old Washington and VFW roads. The man was identified as Junius Edward Malone, 42, of Washington D.C. and was charged with Armed Robbery, First Degree Assault and Concealed Deadly Weapon. Further investigation revealed Malone was wanted in Prince George's County and by the Maryland home detention unit. He is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Officer W. Halt investigated.
