Thomas F. McKay, President, St. Marys County Board of Commissioners and member of the Governors Critical Areas Commission for the Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays, invites the public to attend a forum entitled Treasuring Our Natural Resources: A Closer Look at Critical Areas in St. Marys County, on Wednesday, May 11, 2005, beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Cole Cinema at St. Marys College of Maryland, in St. Marys City.
I encourage friends to join us on May 11th to learn more about the Commission and local governments role in programs that represent a comprehensive land use strategy for preserving our most important natural resources, said Thomas F. McKay, President, St. Marys County Board of Commissioners. It is very important to keep citizens involved in this effort by offering them an opportunity to ask questions and make recommendations to the Commission.
Senator Martin G. Madden, chair of the Governors Critical Areas Commission, and Ren Serey, executive director, will open the public forum with a presentation including the purpose and responsibilities of the Commission and the processes for development in the critical area for residential and commercial property owners. The agenda also includes presentations by the St. Marys Watershed Association, St. Marys College of Maryland, and the St. Marys County Department of Land Use and Growth Management.
