St. Mary's Police Report


Sheriff's Office Deputies Richard W. Russell and K-9 Officer J. Frank Fowler responded to the call of a suspicious person in the area of the Foodlion in Charlotte Hall. The suspicious person was wearing all black clothing with a hood covering his face and was hiding in the landscaping in the area as vehicles approached. Deputies made contact with the Suspect and he fled. A chase ensued and the Suspect was caught as a struggle began. The Suspect was detained and a bag was located that was in the Suspects possession. The bag was full of various items that had been stolen from motor vehicles in the area. The suspect was found to be a runaway for nearly a month. He was arrested and brought before the Juvenile Court for an arraignment.

Deputy Milton Pesante was on patrol in the Mechanicsville area when he was contacted by Charles County Sheriff's Office Deputy Eric Baker in regards to an erratic driver. Deputy Pesante and Baker contacted the operator and she was identified as Trina Darlene Clavelli (33 of Waldorf). She displayed outward signs of intoxication and failed all of the roadside tests. She was arrested and is currently incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center.

Sheriff's Office Deputy Richard W. Russell was in the area of the Thomas Johnson Bridge conducting moving radar when a vehicle entered the radar at the speed of 66 mph in a posted 50 mph zone. Deputy Russell attempted to stop the vehicle and it fled and both the driver and passenger fled. A foot chance ensued and Dfc. Russell was assisted by responding units. Both the suspects were apprehended. The driver, 15 years old from Waldorf and the 12 year old passenger (Prince George's County) were found to be operating a stolen vehicle. The 12 year old stole the vehicle and drove it to a location in Calvert County. After ingesting marijuana he was unable to continue to drive which led to the 15 year old taking the wheel. The 15 year old was found to have cut off his Electronic monitoring bracelet (issued through Charles County) and was turned over to Charles County Sheriff's Office for detention related to the violation. The 12 year old was returned to the custody of a parent or guardian. Both Suspects were charged with numerous charges to include motor vehicle theft, theft over $500.00 and fleeing and eluding.

Deputy Michael R. Worrey conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a safety equipment repair violation. Upon contacting the operator, Michael David Wilson, it was found that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages. He failed all of the roadside tests and was arrested and transported to the Detention Center to await a hearing before the District Court Commissioner.

Deputy Richard W. Russell conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was operated by Joseph Charles Ellis (25 of Bushwood) Suspect Ellis was found to be intoxicated and failed the roadside tests he was requested to perform. He was arrested and is awaiting a Preliminary Hearing before the District Court.

Sheriff's Office Deputy Milton Pesante located and arrested Robert Christopher Guy of Mechanicsville for Failure to Appear. The original charge was theft under $500.00. He is being held on a preset bond of $115.00.
