On April 28 at 7:25 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to a residence in the 7500 block of Bumpy Oak Road in La Plata for the armed robbery report. Investigation revealed a 64-year-old man was working in the garden at his home when between three and five suspects approached him and robbed him of his wallet and keys. The suspects assaulted the victim with an unknown object and fled the scene. The man sustained serious head injuries and was flown to Prince George's Hospital Center. His injuries are said to be non-life-threatening. The suspects are described as black males in their late teens. They were wearing white undershirts and BDU pants.
