On April 17 at 9:47 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to Burchmart Shell Station at 6985 Indian Head Highway in Bryans Road for the report of a shooting. Investigation revealed a 23-year-old La Plata man and at least two suspects had a dispute, during which one of the suspects shot the man. The suspects then stole the victim's 1995 four-door Cadillac Deville. An off-duty metropolitan police officer followed the suspects into Prince George's County, where he lost sight of the vehicle. The victim was flown to Prince George's General Hospital where his injuries are said to be non-life-threatening. He is listed in stable condition. The stolen vehicle bears Maryland tags KHT911.
