Stolen Vehicle Leads to Cocaine Bust


Sheriff's Office Deputy Charles Earle was dispatched to the reported vehicle displaying stolen tags. Dfc. Earle arrived on the scene and observed two (2) subjects in the area of the vehicle in question. He elected to conduct surveillance on the vehicle and Suspect James Robert Shade (28 years old of Lexington Park) and Suspect James Melvin Butler (41 years old of Lexington Park) entered the vehicle and attempted to leave the area. The vehicle was stopped and Suspect James Melvin Butler was arrested for theft. Suspect Shade had an open warrant for assault and a search incident to arrest was conducted. Dfc. Earle recovered 32.5 grams of Cocaine hidden on Shade's person. The Cocaine has a street value of more than $3,500.00. Both Suspects are currently awaiting a bond hearing before the District Court Commissioner.

Dfc. John W. Cusic located Suspect Frank Dyson of Lexington Park and arrested him on an open warrant. the warrant was for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Bad Check.
