Lexington Park Man Arrested for Two Separate Armed Robberies


On April 4th, 2005 Detectives from the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) apprehended Darrell Rodeny Wilkins, a 38 year old male from Lexington Park, Maryland in connection with two (2) separate armed robbery investigations.

The investigations revealed that on January 20th, 2005 Wilkins forcibly entered a single family residence located in Great Mills, Maryland and robbed an elderly female of money while threatening her with a weapon. Then, on February 18th, 2005 Wilkins entered the CVS Pharmacy located on Great Mills Rd. in Lexington Park, Maryland and threatened the cashier clerk while holding a weapon in his hand and demanded money from the clerk.

Detectives obtained statements and identifying information from numerous witnesses which led to the identification of the suspect as Wilkins. He was located and placed under arrest by Detectives Thomas Hedderich and Clay Safford and Wilkins is currently incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending his appearance before the District Court.
