The St. Mary's County Historic Preservation Commission is seeking nominations for the 6th Annual Preservation Awards, which will be presented by the Board of County Commissioners this spring for outstanding achievements in historic preservation in St. Mary's County.
Awards are offered in two categories: Preservation Project Awards recognize specific projects or accomplishments in restoration, research or education. Preservation Service Awards recognize long-term commitment and services to preservation in St. Mary's County. All projects must be in St. Mary's County and must have been completed by January 1, 2005.
Individuals, businesses, and organizations are eligible for the awards and self-nominations are accepted.
Nomination forms are available online the Historic Preservation website at http://www.co.saint-marys.md.us/voluntr/historicpreservcomm/hpindex.asp, at the Department of Land Use and Growth Management, the St. Mary's County Libraries, and the Public Information Office. Completed nomination forms must be received by April 22, 2005.
