Motorist Stopped for Erratic Driving Gets a Drug Charge As Well


On 03/17/05 Deputy Terry Kile stopped a vehicle on Mervell Dean Road for crossing the edge and center lines. The driver was identified as John Meredith Miller Jr., 35 of Hollywood. As Deputy Kile approached the vehicle he detected an odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of marijuana residue, pipe and a small amount of crack cocaine. An application was completed for John Meredith for possession of CDS-Crack Cocaine and paraphernalia.

On 03/18/05 Deputy Terry Kile observed a vehicle stopped in the roadway bearing Maryland tags. As he approached the vehicle it began backing down the roadway. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Stephen Wayne Wiley of Wynne Road, Ridge. The driver was given several Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he completed 2 of and refused to do anymore. The driver was advised of his rights to take an Intoximeter test and refused to do so. He was arrested an charged with Driving Under the Influence, Driving While Impaired, and Driver consuming alcoholic beverage in passenger area of vehicle. He was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

On 03/16/05 Deputy Terry Kile stopped a vehicle for failure to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle being driven by Jacob Alton Otero 19 of Mechanicsville was stopped on Busy Corner Road. As Deputy Kile approached the vehicle he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed numerous amounts of seeds, marijuana rolling papers and other paraphernalia. a search of his clothes revealed a marijuana smoking pipe in his jacket pocket. An application for possession of CDS-Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia was submitted for charging papers.

On 03/20/05 Deputy Jay Kirkner responded to Holly Lane, Mechanicsville for a reported theft. It was reported by Joseph Ray Hall, Sr. that sometime between 03/19-20/05 unknown persons stole the tag from his trailer. The tag Maryland 812978G and the sticker 7897800 were both entered into the NCIC system.

On 03/20/05 Deputy Jay Kirkner served an arrest warrant on a juvenile. The arrest warrant was for violation of probation. The juvenile was charged with violating the Electronic Monitoring System and held a Boys Village, Cheltenham pending a hearing in Circuit Court.
