Hollywood Man Assaults Officer; More...


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 21, 2005) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT, RESISTING ARREST: On March 17 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Dfc. Donald Poole and Dfc. Elizabeth Trossbach were patrolling the area of Kavanagh Rd in Loveville. William Wellington Webb age 37 of Hollywood was found strolling on the roadway. Records reflected there was a warrant for William Webb through the Maryland State Police. Dfc. Poole and Dfc. Trossbach attempted to take Mr. Webb into custody when he jerked away and struck Dfc. Trossbach with an elbow. He ran and when deputies caught up to him he turned and pushed Dfc. Poole in the chest. He tried again to pull away but was detained. He was treated for a minor injury and then taken to the Detention Center by Dfc. Poole. He was charged with two counts of Assault 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned before a District Court Commissioner and released on personal bond.

BAD CHECK: On March 17, Dfc. Donald Poole charged Renee Annette Palmer, age 46 of Mechanicsville, by Criminal Summons with Bad Check Under $500.00. The charge was a result of a criminal information filed in District Court for a June 2004 check uttered at Food Lion in Leonardtown. Renee Palmer was released pending a preliminary inquiry in District Court.

VIOLATION OF PEACE ORDER: On March 18, Dep. Brian Connelly charged Jessica Lynn Morgan, age 22 of Lexington Park, by Criminal Summons with Fail to Comply with a Peace Order. The charge is a result of an incident in January 2005 investigated by Dfc. Elizabeth Trossbach. Jessica Lynn Morgan contacted Kelly Lynn Maloney in violation of the Peace Order. Jessica Morgan was released pending a preliminary inquiry in District Court.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On March 18, Dfc. Michael Peacher charged Floyd Francis Ashley, 65 of Hollywood, by Criminal Summons with Assault 2nd Degree. The charge was a result of an incident which occurred in February in Lexington Park in which John Wathen was struck by Floyd Ashley's truck door. Floyd Francis Ashley was released pending a preliminary inquiry in District Court.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On March 18, Dfc. Michael Peacher charged Kevin Dale Wiersma, age 42 of California, by Criminal Summons with Assault 2nd Degree. The charge was a result of an incident on 3/7/05 investigated by Dfc. Randy Wood in California in which Montes De Oca Martin was assaulted by Wiersma. Kevin Dale Wiersma was released pending a preliminary inquiry in District Court.

UPDATE 2006-08-24: This case was handled by the DISTRICT COURT OF ST. MARY'S COUNTY - CRIMINAL SYSTEM. Case No. 0Q00029547. On 2005-09-29, the charges against Mr. Wiersma were dropped when the prosecutor entered a disposition of NOLLE PROSEQUI.
